DISCUSSION IN HOUSE. OPPOSITION DEMAND. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, March 24. Some of the serious results to meat producers of the latest development regarding export are already being brought to thp notice of members ot Parliament,. and it is regarded as certain that the National Party will require a discussion of the question] in the House before the session closes. There is, however, -no general opportunity for a debate as the Appropriation Bill is not needed before the adjournment; therefore, an alternative, is to move a special motion that the. House adjourn, thus enabling the meat crisis to be discussed and information secured from the Government regarding the method of compensating meat producers who require to maintain on their farms stock which normally would be purchased by the. Government for freezing. i "High country pastoralists in the South Island are threatened with the loss of their only market," stated Mr W. A. Bodkin. "Fat wethers are just coming off the high country. They go straight to the freezing works, and this is practically the only market for them. The local market could not possibly absorb them and the wethers cannot be left in the high country. They must be brought down, though without disposal to the works there; is no place to hold them. They cannot' be held above the snowline after May."

Mr Bodkin is endeavouring to bring the matter to the personal notice of the Minister of Agriculture to-day.
