j MEETING OF COMMITTEE. I The committee of the shop branch of the Manawatu Women’s Patriotic Committee, met on Monday, Mrs it. |C. Barnett, presiding. The Mayoress (Mrs A. E. Mansford) was associated with the chairwoman. Mrs It. McMurrav, the shop committee’s ney secretary, and Mrs W. H. Galbraith, the secretary of the Manawatu Patriotic lWomen’s committee, were welcomed, I also Mrs Thomas, delegate of the i League of Mothers. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of apprecia- ! tion to Mrs J. Pegden, former shop and patriotic committee secretary, for her services. The statement of accounts showed that there was a, balance available on October 5 of £409 4s 7d. The sum of £609 4s 7d had been paid to the Zone D Patriotic Committee. Mrs Mansford said the shop committee had felt it would like to contribute £IOO to the Fighter Fund and £2OO to the London Relief Funds, as well as the zone funds. This had been decided upon at a special meeting. The action of the special meeting in giving the money to these funds was en‘dorsed. Recommendations were approved that parcels for the zone be !a first charge on the patriotic shop 'funds, and that £25 be allocated to the wool committee. Satisfaction was expressed that the parcel funds were being made a charge on the shop aocount. Mrs Mansford said that no more parcels would be required before | Christmas. In the next two months £20,000 would be required for the London Relief Fund and the Rehabilitation Fund. She suggested that money received in the next lew months be allocated to this appeal and this was agreed to.
