VISIT OF SCOUTS.

PARTY FROM HUTT VALLEY,

Visits are exchanged annually between Hutt Valley and Palmerston North Boy Scouts, and during the week-end it was the turn of scouts in the Hutt Valley district to come here, A party consisting of 50 scouts, 15 Scoutmasters and eight lady cubmasters arrived on Saturday and were billeted by local scouts. The whole party visited Massey College on Saturday afternoon, being shown over the buildings and other places of interest. by Professor W. Kiddet. On their return the visitors were taken through the Esplanade to see the cherry blossoms. The visiting scoutmasters were entertained on Saturday evening by local scoutmasters, and friends at a social and dance in All. Saints’ Scout Hall, A church parade was held at All Saints’ Church on Sunday morning, the visitors being joined by local scouts More than 200 paraded. All the local troops had colour parties, and the colours were presented at the altar at the start of the service. At the close the colour parties stood facing the altar while the National Anthem was played. Tho visitors left in the afternoon for Wellington. Mr Cecil Halford, commissioner for the Hutt Valley and Bays district, was in charge of tho visting party. Arrangements in Palmerston North were made by a committee consisting of Misses L. Bennett and J. Davidson, lady cubmasters, and Scoutmasters L. G. Callis and Crane.
