The Government has always made it clear that if members desire to get private explanations from Ministers regarding the war e fort the opportunity will be S IV ®F; However, on the present occasion, members have given no indication of a. desire. They appear to be satisfied with the wide opportunities available for a discussion on tbe jar regulations and the attitude of Ministers who, in. addition to making statements which can have offered to provide further detads in which members may be interestea. When the Minister of Defence mad his recent statement regarding al forms of defence activities, including information relating to the expenditure on the various arms of tlie ser vices, he invited a private perusal of additional details which could not b• given publicity.
