BAYONET WOUND.
MAN IN HOSPITAL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 6.Andrcw Sim, an able seaman of the Kakapo, is in the Auckland Hospital recovering from a bayonet wound, me [vas admitted at 8.45 on Thursday evening after an encounter with sentries at an armed guard post on the waterfront. , 'From official quarters it was earned to-day that Sim is alleged to have climbed over a barbed wire entanglem< sentry ordered him not to climb the barrier, but he persisted, and the corporal of the guard came along. It is assumed, it is stated, that Sim of fered to-fight the corporal, and made threatening rushes at him. The cor poral immediately came to the on guard” position with Ins rifle and oim, it is stated, ran against the bayonet. His condition is satisfactory.^
