ST. ANDREW’S GUILD.

ANNUAL CHILDREN’S PARTY. There was a large and happy gather ing in St. Andrew’s Afamonal hall, yesterday afternoon, when the executive and vice-presidents of the Ladies’ Guild gave their annual children’s party. A long table in tire centre of the room was arranged for tne children and decorated with vases of yellow narcissi, blue grape hyacinths and maidenhair fern, while the members’ tables grouped round about bore vases of narcissi and fern. The president’s table had a largo bowl of pink shaded cyclamens. Branches of blossom, narcissi and fern were attractively massed in bowls on the stage. Airs Al. Aitchison presided and welcomed the members and children. There was an apology for absence from Rev. J. Hubbard and Airs Hubba<rd.

Aliss Thomson, superintendent of the infants’ department of the Sunday school, took charge of the first part of the programme, when items were given by Patricia- AlcEwan, Joan Emmett, Lorna Gunn. David Donald, Elaine Thompson (songs), Wendy and George Petersen, Jean AlcDowell, Bruce Ayres, Donald Lowe, Elaine Thompson, Angus McDowell, David Donald and Barbara and Martin Pearce. The seniors’ programme was opened by John, Alillicent and Malcolm Cunninghame, who gave instrumental trios, followed by a ’cello solo by John Cunninghame, accompanied by Mrs Cunninghame, a pianoforte solo by Alillicent Cunninghame, and a violin solo by Malcolm Cunninghame. also accompanied by Airs Cunninghame. Recitations were given by Alelba Niven, Phyllis ' Petersen. Colin Watson ; songs by Love Vile; and a mouth-organ solo by Robert Campbell. “Onward Christian Soldiers’’ sung by the Sixth Standard girls coneluded the programme. Alesdames W. B. Tennent, J. Linklater, H. R. Waldegrave, G. Renme, R. L. C. Aitchison, J. Stevens, Clarke and Afissos Rao and Thomson assisted the executive and vice-presidents in giving the party. Alesdames W. Rutherford and Sloman were the door hostesses and Mrs S. Bradfield was responsible for the decorations. The accomnanists were Alesdames R. Donald and Emmett. Airs Aitchison thanked the children for their items.
