RANGIOTU INSTITUTE.
At a meeting of the Itangiotu Women’s Institute Mrs Russell presided. Members spent . the afternoon sowing and knitting for patriotic purposes. Many useful garments were on display, these being the fine results of the sewing day held on July 9. Competition results are: Apple pie (any pastry), Mrs Baker 1, Mrs Jepson 2, Mrs Cook 3; soldiers’ cake, Miss P. Gimblett 1, Mrs Cooksley 2, Mrs Baker 3; bloom, Mrs Millard 1. Mrs Saywell 2, Mrs Walker 3. A bring and buy stall did a good trade At the next meeting the competitions are: Knitted balaclava, arranged bowl of flow'ers, bloom.
