ALWYN CLUB.
Members of the Alwyn Physical Culture Club gave an interesting programme in the Cosmopolitan Hall, last evening, in aid of the Patriotic Committee’s parcels fund. There was an attendance of about 120 members and friends, who were welcomed by the president (Mrs S'. G. Northey). Mrs Northey thanked the public for their support of the club and said that the purpose of the evening w’as a very worthy one. A demonstration of the club’s activities followed, Miss IC. Landers and Mrs Smillie showing various exercises from an elevated platform. A class of twelve gave standing exercises with a commentary by Miss K. Birnie. The programme concluded with an exhibition of films by Mr A. V. Pizzey illustrating his visit to the East Indies and Malay States.
