PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
The wool branch of the Palmerston North AVomen’s Patriotic Committee has received fourteen’quilts made from peggy squares by pupils at various schools. Four are cot quilts,-the others being for adults, and in some cases the quilts were already made up and neatly lined. The others are being stitched together and lined by members of the committee. Mrs K. S. Manning (chairman of tile committee) reports that in addition to the quilts 150 hussifs, 28 balaclavas, 87 pairs of mittens, 33 scarves and three pairs of gloves will be despatched this week.
