Mr and Mrs W. G. Eising, of Makomako, arc visiting Napier. Mr S. K. Siddclls presided at. a meeting of the Palliatna Recruit Presentation Committee, when Mr A. W. Hamilton was appointed acting secretary during Mr L D. Lovelock’s stay in camp. Messrs J. Hutton and Siddclls were appointed to purchase articles for presentations to recruits. Members of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union are to lie the official ho-s tosses for the next, presentation to recruits. It was stated that arrangements have been made for extra ploughing and manuring, and individual farmers have been exerting themselves towards greatly increased production. MAKOMAKO. At a meeting of the Red Cross committee a large parcel of goods was prepared for despatch to Wellington. ’1 he members wore asked to bring a garment to the next meeting for the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild. , , .
