TRANSFER OF WORKERS.
GOOD RESPONSE TO APPEAL. ' Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 14. Pleasure was expressed by tlie Minister of Labour (Hon. P. C. Webb) today at the response made to date to his appeal to skilled artisans -who had left factory or workshop for other employment to return to the industries in which they were trained in order to accelerate the increase in production. The Minister’s appeal was also addressed to men and women who have retired from active, work but who are still able to re-enter industry. Mr Webb said inquiries and appli.cations were being received from experienced machinists in all parts of New Zealand. The Labour Department was advertising throughout the country for women, and girls to place themselves at the disposal of the department and so enable the department to assist the secondary industries.
