THREEPENNY PIECES.
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, June 14. • Counterfeit threepenny pieces were passed over a retailer’s counter today. They bore the t date 0f'1933, and were detected only ; because of being slightly thinner than the legal coin. Banks have been unaware that such coins are in circulation, but the fact that the sample is so well made suggests that a considerable number' were released.
