Popularity of buses for municipal transportation in American cities has reversed the situation of 20 years ago. Only four cities of more than 10,000 population used buses .exclusively 20 years ago as against 560 served by rail lines only. To-day 555 cities have bus transportation exclusively, out of 982 with more than 10,000 population, and only 32 are served by rail lines exclusively.
