At the monthly meeting of the Aokau-tere-Tiritca branch of the Farmers’ Union. Mr C. M. A. Kebble presided. There was a short discussion on correspondence dealing with home defence. Mr ’W. Hutchinson gave a short address on the feeding and management of breeding ewes for maximum fat lamb production as carried out by him, and this was followed by questions and a general discussion. , ■

A large number of local residents gathered in the hall to honour Miss Nitu Brill at a kitchen tea. Air A. Fergus son, a neighbour of the Brill family for many years, spoke on behalf of the residents and' asked Miss Brill to accept many gifts, which testified to her popularity. Hu said that with the gifts went the wishes of, those present that she would have many years of happiness. Aliss Brill and her .fiance, Air Ernie Woods, of Poh angina, were accorded musical honours, Mr Woods, replying for Miss Brill. The bridesmaids assisted in unpuncking the presents, disclosing a good assortment of useful kitchen utensils. The duties of AI.Cwere carried out by Air P. Levy and music for the dancing was supplied by Alossrs J{. and C. Brill.
