At flic annual-meeting of the Longbur Institute, Mrs Pierard presided. Visitoi wore Mesdames McKay and Churchill,, t Rongotea, and Airs Stevens, ■ senr., c Awapuni. Apologies for absence were rt ceived from Mesdames Young, Cbambei lain, Nicol, . Swonsson and. Oko. Votes c sympathy were passed with Mesdames Ho land, Swonsson, Stevens and Young. Air Pierard gave the motto, “The golden ag is in the future and not in the past.’ Mesdames McKay and Churchill gav talks on institute matters. One new mem ber was enrolled. It, was decided to for ward five boxes to the Patriotic • Counci for the soldiers overseas. A collection me with a generous response. Arrangement were made for the birthday to ho hob early in April. Mrs T. Rowland offered h make the cake and Airs C. Hills to ici it. Mesdames Churchill and AlcKay con ducted the election, which resulted: Pro sklent, Airs W.
