MALAYAN RULERS' GIFT.
ACKNOWLEDGED BY BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) Received February 22, 10.10 a.m RUGBY, I eb. 21. Acknowledging an offer oi L 1,000,000 hv the rulers of the Federated Ala!ay .States, Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Pahang, as_ a gilt to the British Government to aid in the prosecution of the war, the Secretary of the Colonies (Mr M. MacDonald) lias sent the following message to the High Commissioner for the Malay States: . . “The British Government has received with much satisfaction the telegram announcing the resolution or the Federal Council in support olI; the wish of the rulers to contribute £1,000,000 to the war expenditure ot the British Government. Please convcv to Their Highnesses arid the council' the thanks and sense oi deep appreciation of the' British Government.
