NOTES.
At a social function held at Papatawa, at which various competitions wore held, the prize-winners were Alesdames Hall, 15. Martin, AV..J. Pirie, Gleadow and Ray Morgan, and Messrs A. I>. Hall, S. Clifford, S. G. Sandbrook, A. and J. Kinane, Mrs G. Bradley and Air L. E. Gleadow supplied dance music, and Air AV. J. Pirie was AI.C. Airs Hall supervised the supper and she was assisted bv the ladies of the institute. Air and Airs Hall were awarded the prize for the best character costumes. Messrs G. Lane and 1). Kenyon were the prize-winners at a euchre'and 500 tournament conducted by the ladies of the Croquet Club. At the Foresters’ euchre tournament on Friday evening, the first prize was won by AA\ Aleredith, E. H. Giles and C. H. Hares winning the second and third trophies respectively. Recent junior basketball matches' resulted as follow:—Ngawapurua 31 v. Woodville B 6, AVoodville A 24 v. Papatawa 15, Konini 21 v. High School 17.
