GLEN OROUA INSTITUTE.
The June meeting of the Glen Oroua Institute took place last. Friday. Apologies for absence were received from Alesdamos Boswell, sent'., and O’Connqr. The secretary was asked to write a letter of appreciation to Airs R. Boyce, who has left Ihe district. thanking her for all she has done for the institute, as she has always lent a helping hand. It was decided that at the July meeting each member pay ninepenee towards the cost of a covered wreath to he laid on the grave of the late member, Airs Woodhotise, who passed away recently. Afrs Parlano read n. report of the federation meeting which she attended. The final arrangements were made for tlie entries in the Winter Show. AL's Wheeler spoke of flic information learnt in attending tlie school of officers held in Rnngotea. The competitions for tlie month resulted as follow: Sausage rolls. Airs W. Boswell 1. Arrs Walsh 2. Afiss AL Yallonder 3; cotton anron. Afrs Sclia.w 1. Afiss Rearson 2. Airs Lnwlor 3; bloom, Airs Yallender 1. Airs Saunders 2. Afrs Tide and ATrs Boswell, equal. 3. The monthly trading stall have been doing good business, and members were asked to bring more goods to help it. as it has been decided that the next month’s takings from the stall be devoted to paying the expenses of setting up shop windows at the A. and P. Show. Competitions for the July meeting are: An apple tart- (puff pastry too and bottom) and a boiling orepe-do-oliine undershirt (machinemade and lace trimmed, no fancy work). The hostesses will be Afesd ames G’-avsnii, Hcrdman, Hamlin and Aliss Hunt.
