SEQUEL TO TRAGEDY
CHARGE AGAINST LORRY DRIVER, Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 17. As the sequel to the tragedy at Mosgiel the police have arrested William Alexander Tait, aged 30, a lorry driver, who works at Outram, but who conies from Oamaru. Tait was charged in the Police Court with negligent driving causing death, and was remanded to appear on April 26 on hail of £4OO. An inquest was opened and adjourned. The poiganey of the tragedy is heightened by the fact that the victims were engaged and had been spending an evening with Miss Thomson’s parents, where her father was celebrating his birthday. The latter saw them off at 11.30 o’clock on Saturday night. Nearby residents heard the smash, hut the impact had thrown the bodies and tho cvele off the road so that nothing was Visible.
