TWO LIVES LOST
MOTOR-CYCLE TRAGEDY. COLLISION SUSPECTED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 16. A motor-oycto accident which resulted in the death of a young man and young woman, and in which a hit-and-run motorist is suspected to have been implicated, occurred on Duke’s Road, near Mosgiel, about midnight on Saturday. The accident was not discovered till spoilt 8 a.m. to-day, when the bodies of the two victims were found lying at the side of the road beside the motor-cycle. The victims were : NELL HARRIS, aged 24, of 136 Bay
View Road. Dunedin. VERA THOMSON, aged 22, employed at Wakari Hospital.
When the tragedy was first discovered it was thought that it was the result of the motor-cycle having skidded, hut further investigations revealed that it could have been the result of a hit-and-run accident. Up to a late hour to-night no arrest had been made.
It is understood that tho victims of the accident were engaged to be married.
