SETTLEMENT IN DOMINION. Per Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, March 28. Czechoslovakia’s consular representative in Christchurch (Mr P. D. Shea) will shortly hand over the consulate to the German Consul-General in New Zealand (Dr E. C. Ramm). Mr Shea has finished handling some of the consulate’s business. The many Czechoslovakian subjects who have been writing privately to the Consul for their country in the South Island will not be endangered by having their names revealed to the German authorities when the consulate changes hands. However although all archives and records will bo handed over to the Gorman Consul-General, Mr Shea says that he has a large bundle of correspondence from people in Czechoslovakia seeking information and assistance for entering the Dominion, which he will not pass over. The applicants, Mr Shea said, included scientists who were willing to do any work, agriculturists, and specialists in the professions who were prepared to take on any task until they could stand on their own feet. He was certain that many of them would bo extremely valuable to this country.
