STATE HOUSES. The chairman of the Dannevirke Power Hoard (Mr Al. U. Grainger) took strong exception, at the meeting of the hoard yesterday, to a statement made at a meeting of the Dannevirke Borough Council that the Power Board was granting special concessions lor the reticulation of State houses. Air Grainger said that, while it was no business of the hoard's what the Borough Council did, he strongly objected to the board being quoted as a “horrid example.” The board was treating the State houses on exactly the same lines as anyone else, and it had no intention of penalising its customers in order to give something to the Government.
