STORM IN TASMAN.
AVANGANELLA’S ROUGH TRIP. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 28. An unusually rough passage from Sydney was experienced by the AVangane.Ha, which reached Auckland at 8 o’clock to-night, about 12 hours behind schedule. No damage was done aboard the vessel, but two of the engine-room staff received injuries. One missed his footing and had a hand lacerated in some machinery. He was attended by the ship’s surgeon, who found it necessary to insert eight stitches. Jhe other fell down a companionway and sprained an ankle. From Friday evening till Sunday morning very few passengers felt inclined to take meals. Baths were forbidden and the usual picture entertainments were not held. On the run up from Melbourne the ship experienced southerly weather, said Captain Darroeh. AA’hen she left Sydney there were violent winds from the south and east, rising at times to the force of a strong gale, with choppy and confused seas. These condition’s endured as far as North Cape, but the run down the coast was pleasant. The AVnnganella’s departure tor Sydney and Melbourne has been postponed' till 4 p.m. on Friday.
