LABOUR CONDITIONS.
TIME FOR REVIEW
MR HAMILTON’S VIEW,
Per Press Association. TAURANGA, Alareh 28
Insistence that the time had arrived for a review of labour conditions in their proper perspective was voiced by Hon. Adam Hamilton in a statement at Tauranga. He added that 60 or 70 per cent, of union award workers had a 40-hour week, while farm workers had no restriction of hours. An extension of hours would remove much of the hardship being experienced by the people.
Air Hamilton went on . to criticise the Government’s housing policy and appealed to the people to unite in a crusade for community fair play and not class fair play in housing. The Opposition Leader added: “Let us realise that, in owning a home, a person is making one of the possible provisions for his or her social security.”
