MAN SERIOUSLY HURT.
ACCIDENT AT TE HORO
CARS MEET HEAD-ON
Serious injury to his spine and shock were suffered by Mr William Roach, carpenter, a married man, aged of, of Otaki, when two motor-cars , collided near Te Horo at about 8 o clock last night. Mr Roach’s condition is reported to-day by the authorities at the Palmerston North Hospital, where he was admitted, to lie still serious. He was a front-seat passenger in one of the cars, which was travelling south. The driver of this car, Mr D. C• Eraser, of Petonc, escaped injury, as also did Mr H. Smith, of Petone. However, the latter’s brother, Air W . Smith, of Sydney, suffered slight cuts to his face. Air W. Carroll, of Hastings, was the driver of the other car involved and he escaped with only slight abrasions. He was accompanied by his wile and another couple and a baby. It is understood that the vehicles met in a head-on collision on a straight stretch of road.
