WOMEN'S CRICKET.
NAPIER BEAT KOWHAI. In a match between the Napier and Kowhai Ladies Cricket Clubs, played at the Hokowhilu Domain on Saturday, Napier won by 32 runs on the first innings. Kowhai in their first innings made 26 runs (Miss B. McKenzie 11, Miss S. Heath 9; Miss N. Colwili 4 lor 7, Miss Josephs 2 for 1). Napier were * dismissed for 5S (Misses C'. Fernatidos 20, G. Smith 9, Al. Kelly and N. Nelson 8; Miss B. McKenzie 7 for 10). Kowhai made 45 in their second innings (Misses S. Heath, 15 not out, G. Millar 9, 1. Christian 8; Misses T. Josephs 3 for 5, O. Christie 3 for 9, N. Colwili 2 for 4). Napier had lost 2 wickets for 2 runs at stumps (Miss B. McKenzie 2 for 0). A most successful dance, attended by a large crowd, was given by the Kowhai Ladies’ Cricket Club, in St. Peter’s Parisli Hall, on Saturday night, as n wind-up to the visit of the Napier ladies’ cricket team. Misses S. Heath (captain) and 11. Hickon were the hostesses and a very enjoyable time was pent, the dances being interspersed with competitions and much-appreciated harmonica items by Messrs D. Bull and R. Grant.
