DUCE IMPATIENT.
THE GERMAN SUCCESSES. NO CONGRATULATIONS SENT. BERLIN, March 21. The fact that Signor Mussolini has not yet sent congratulations has not escaped the notice of Nazi leaders who, it is l>elievcd, understand it as a sign that the Duce is impatient at German successes while he continues to mark time. It is reported that Field-Marshal Goering will take to Italy a sop to Signor Mussolini in the shape of Herr Hitler’s assurances of a large measure of support for the Italian claims in the Mediterranean. Signor Attolico had a two hours’ talk with Herr Hitler before leaving for Rome with a message from Herr Hitler. A Rome message reports that Signor Mussolini is having a conference with Count Grandi (Ambassador in London) and Signor Attolico, after a meeting of the Fascist Grand Council to-night. The newspapers state that Signor Mussolini on March 26 will announce Italy’s reaction to tlit recent events and her new goals. ENVOY TO REPORT. After seeing important German leaders, Signor Attolico (Italian Ambassador) has gone to Rome to report. German stocks of wheat and rye for bread total 8,750,000 tons, 4,000,000 tons more than a year ago.
