“CLUTCH OF SOVIET STRAW.” (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, March 21. The Berlin Press continues to vituperate against the democracies in general and Britain in particular. The Boersen Zeitung says the fact that the British “clutch at the Soviet straw is not evidence of statesmanship, hut of conclusive hate, impotence and bottomless hypocrisy. “The League and England arc organising against ns, hut will not frighten us.” FRENCH PRAISE. The French Press unanimously praises the common front plan of iU. Bium (Popular Front Leader). The Populaire praises Mr Chamberlain and Lord Halifax, who, it says, are now applying themselves to eflacing the bitter memories of the events of September which were left in the minds of the leaders of Soviet Russia.
