OLD BOYS’ CLUB. 19TII ANNUAL MEETING. The 19th annual meeting of the Old Boys Rugby Football Club was held last evening, when the president (Mr K. W. Eglinton) was in the chair. There was an attendance of 40 members. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs B. Palmer, H. Palmer, and W. S. Fox. In speaking to the report, already published, the chairman stated that last season had l>cen a very successful one, especially for the junior team. The senior side had improved as the season progressed. They had eventually played off with Kia Toa for the championship, when the team had put up a good performance. The juniors had maintained the good traditions of the club and had won everything possible with the exception of the sevon-a-side tourney. Although the third grade side was a young one, they had plaved well throughout the season. The f!ui> owed much io the coaches, Messrs G. Thomas, J. Ryan and N, Gallichan. It was an appreciable fact that the Rutherford Cup had this year been won by a young member. The Captain's Cup, presented by Mr Y. Fleming had been won by one of the oldest members, B. O'Dea. J E. B. Lawson had won' the Palmer Bros. Cup. The success of the socials held had in no small part due to Mr AA . H. Simmons, the secretary, and those who had rallied around him. There was a slight financial loss over the year's working, due to exceptional expenses incurred. Thanks were due to the captain (Mr W. S. Fox) for the work he had done in organising the club. Several other speakers endorsed Mr Eglin ton's remarks. The report, together with the bal-ance-sheet, was adopted. Eight new members were elected, bringing the total active membership to 99.
