CO-OPERATIVE GUILD

The Manawatu Co-operative Women’s Guild met this week, when Mrs O. Niederer presided. After the usual business had been concluded, a social was proceeded with to honour Mr and Mrs Jacobs, of 29 West Street, on the occasion of their diamond wedding, items being rendered by Mesdames Clark, Pascoe. Jacobs, junr., Miss Nellie Jacobs, Mesdames Keith Jones and Conway, and little Norma Tucker. Mrs Niederer presented the guests of honour with an electric heater, expressing good wishes for the future and mentioning the good work done by Mrs Jacobs for the Co-operative Society. Mrs Jacobs was also presented with a posy and Mr Jacobs with a buttonhole made by Mrs Kennedy. Mrs Jacobs replied. A competition was won by Mrs Linda Bennet. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Wolf and Christensen.
