In their match with Rhodesia, the M.C.C. declared their second innings closed with 2 wickets down for 174. Rhodesia, in their second innings, lost 6 for 95 (Goddard 2 for 22). The match was drawn. There was heavy rain overnight and there was no play before lunch. The wicket was dried by pouring on it and igniting 40 gallons of petrol.
