THE WOMEN'S DIVISION. FITNESS WEEK PROCESSION. ! The monthly meeting of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, there being a large attendance of memLers and friends. The president made reference to the death of His Holiness the Pope, Pius XI, members standing in silence as a mark of sympathy. Votes of condolence were also passed with Mrs McCool and Mrs P. Bradley in their recent bereavements. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdamos Kidd, Harding, Halpin, Hurley, Bowman, Brotherstone, and Misses Bowman and Martin. Correspondence was received from the Dominion secretary, extending an invitation to the opening of the "Kaianga Aloe" Rest Home, at 'W'aipawa, on Saturday, several expressing their intention of accepting. Mrs A. W. J jil,l) >- of Dannevirke, secretary of the Southern Hawke's Bay executive, wrote inviting Woodville members to the Dannevirke birthday party on Thursday, at which the Dominion president (Mrs VVick+iam) would be present. It was decided to hold an afternoon function in the Institute Hall in March in aid of the funds. Mesdames Leach, Jones. Bibby, McCool, Meredith, and Miss Harding, were appointed to organise the representation for ''Fitness Week" procession. Competitions were won by Mesdames Mitchell, Hume, Pryde, and Graham. Votes of thanks were acordod Mesdames Hume and Munro for donations of a tray cloth and bedjacket, respectively, to augment the funds; also to Mrs Oxenham for arranging a competition and donating the prize for same, to Mrs Bibby for acting as steward, to Mrs J. Pryde for judging the competition, and also to the hostesses. Mrs Harris, of Paraparaumu, who is a visitor to Y\ oodville, was welcomed by the president. Mrs Harris gave a short outline of the work done by the division in her particular district, stating that their greatest difficulty was to obtain sufficient housekeepers to cope with the demand.
