ELECTRICITY IN THE HOME.
Here are some elementary precautions that will ensure the safety of domestic electric appliances : Vacuum cleaners. —Always see that flexible cord is in good condition. Do not touch metal frame of motor whilst current is turned on. Electric irons.—Do not touch water pipes, or any other earthed metal, whilst holding the iron. Do not stand on a damn floor. Do not leave current on whilst attending to a call at the door, or answering the telephone—you may forget about it and damage can easily be the result. Radiators. —Do not remove the wire guard protection. See that the flexible cord is in good condition, and that it is not chafed at the point of connection with radiator. I Washing machines. —Do not overload! clothes container, as this will overload I the motor.
Grillers, toasters and kettles.—Do not use broken plug connections. Have them replaced immediately.
