SPRING HORSE FAIR.

The Associated Auctioneers report oil tlio first spring horse fair held at Feeding. A large entry of approximately 100 heavy and medium broken daughts, with approximately SO unbroken draughts and 30 to 40 hacks was submitted to a large attendance. The quality of both unbroken and broken draughts was not up to the usual standard for the spring fair. Included in the offering of broken horses were a large number from the South Island, lor which the market was inclined to be sticky; nevertheless, these vendors wore out to make sales at rates in the main down about £lO per head on last year’s spring fair. Local broken draughts of good quality, on the other hand, elicited keen competition, with values foT good sorts being approximately on a par with last year’s spring rates.
