CRUTCHING SALE.

PRICES AT TIMARU. Per Press Association. TIMARU, Aug. 24. At the crutching and oddinent sale to-day 1724 bales were offered to a representative bench of buyers, competition being confined to Bradford and the Continent. A feature of the sale was the absence of Japan and the Dominion mills. Fully 40 per cent, of the offering was passed. The range of prices was: Merino crutehings, 5d to 7d; halfbred crutchings;. extra good, 6|d to to good, 4-Jd to 6d ; three-quarterbred, extra good, to average to good, 5d t.o fid; crossbred, extra good, 6-d to 7Jd; average to good, o-\d to briteh ends, Bjd to 9d.
