; BRUSSELS, Aug. 23. A Belgian, Aliss Fernande \Caroen, has established a world’s record for the women’s 1000 yards free-style of 13 min. 3sec. ~ The record was formerly held by Miss H. Maddison (.U.S.A.), her time being 13min. 23 3-ssec.
