Lupe Velez secured her second divorce from Johnny Weissmuller, former champion swimmer, whom she described as a “cruel caveman” who threw chinaware and broke the furniture when displeased. She added: “I would rather die than go on with marriage as it is now I a<m t know why I was not killed.” The couple were reconciled after the granting of the first divorce.
