GOLF.
WANGANUI PLAY MANAWATU. Teams from the Belmont Golf Club, Wanganui, "visited Hokowhitu yesterday to play challenge matches against the Manawatu Club for the Itapley and Mina Seifert Cups. Though the course was heavy after the recent ram, the fine weather made the occasion a pleasant one. Wanganui were able to carry off the Itapley Cup for A grade players by a margin of one game; but, the games being even, in the other contest, Mana-r watu retained the Mina Seifert Cup. - Following afternoon tea, Mrs D. V. Stewart, captain of the Manawatu Ladies 1 Golf Club, presented the Itapley Cup to Miss Robinson, captain of the Belmont ’players;, who returned thanks for the hospitality ; extended.
