CROSSING ACCIDENT.

HOKITIKA, June 24. A rail-car near Three Mile ran into a deaf and dumb middle-aged woman who was crossing from a private house over the railway line to the main road. In spite of prompt braking by the car driver, the woman was- struck heavily, receiving a serious dislocation of the’ right knee, a lacerated right leg, a lacerated scalp, and general bruising. She was taken to the "Wesbland Hospital, where her condition is fair. ' i ' - '"
