BETTER UNDERSTANDING.
ENGLAND AND ITALY. Received November 25, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, No.v. 24. After laying a wreath on the Unknown Warrior’s tomb at the Abbey, the head of the Italian ex-servicemen|s delegation, Signor Del Croix, who is sightless and, armless as & result of the Great War, pleaded for a better Anglo-Italian understanding. Mr A. Duff-Cooper, First Lord of the Admiralty, in a speech at a dinner to the delegation, said there could never be a serious misunderstanding between England .and Italy, who had been friends and allies in the past and would be in the future. NO MISTRUST. (British Official Wireless.) Received November 25, 10.35 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 24. Sneaking at the British Legion dinner’in honour of the visiting Italian ex-servicemen, Signor Grandi said he was convinced that, despite the apparent differences, there was an understanding between Britain and Italy. When the two countries, at last, decided to clear the way they would discover there was no real cause for mistrust between them.
