JAPANESE DEMANDS.
INTERNATIONAL SETTLEMENT. (British Official Wireless.) Received November 25. 11.13 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 24. Questioned about the Japanese demands to the Settlement authorities at Shanghai. Mr Anthony Eden, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said he understood the Japanese authorities were discussing wit* the municipal . authorities various matters under the head of suppression, anti-Japanese activities and Chinese Government organisations in the Settlement. • It was too soon to state the results of the discussions, which were still proceeding. The British Ambassador at Tokio and the British authorities at Shanghai had repeatedly reminded the _ Japanese Government of their promises to respect foreign, rights in China.
