Received November 25, 10.30 a .in. NANKING, Nov. 24.. Japanese bombs damaged the National Art Gallery at Nanking. DETERMINED BID. TO CHECK ADVANCE. Received November 25, 1.45 p.m. SHANGHAI, Nov. 24. With the arrival of fresh troops the Chinese are making a determined kid to stop the Japanese advance on the Wusih front. It is claimed that .Japan was forced to yield ground, while the Chinese are heroically resisting in the streets of Wushing. A Japanese army spokesman said that a halt was called on the. whole front for the purpose of reforming the lines. EMBASSIES MOVED. (British Official Wireless.) Received November 25, 1.32 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 24. The British Embassy staff at Nanking have left in the warship Bee for Hankow. It is understood. the American, German, French, Italian, Belgian and Russian Embassies were moved at the same time. The British Consul and military attache are remaining at Nanking for the time being.
