( From Our Own Correspondent.) EKETAI-lUNA, Nov. 19. Mr McNab, of Palmerston North, who was formerly a resident of this district in the sawmilling days, has been here on a visit, Mr J. Hodson, of Apiti, who was in charge of the Presbyterian Church heie some 24 yoars ago, visited Eketahuha recently, en route to Wellington. At the funeral of the Into Mr M. Kelliher, Rev. Father Sweeney conducted the service at the Sacred Heart Church, and officiated at the graveside. The pall-bear-ers were Messrs. Kdlliher (Palmerston North), D. D. Ryan, F. McManus, C. 11. At the monthly meeting of the committee of the District High School arrears of dental services were thoroughly discussed. It was resolved that the secretary write to Miss Mayers, extending to her a wolcome to the staff. It was resolved to purchase 108 worth of health stamp. Messrs Fox and Rogers were appointed tho visiting committee. Tho headmaster reported attendances to bo: Primary 156, secondary 37. Six candidates were sitting for tho Public Service Examination. At the executive meeting of tho R.S.A. Mr A. Golder was in the chair. The treasurer’s report showed satifactor'y balances in the various accounts. Lengthy correspondence in connection with the contingent to represent the N.Z.R.S.A. at the 150th anniversary celebrations in Australia was discussed. Headquarters notified that the allocation for this branch for representation had been reduced from two to one. In a draw, the successful nominee was Mr W. Hornblow.
