WORK AT ORAKEI
Per Press Association
AUCKLAND, Aug. 30. The carpenters on the State houses at Orakei who struck on Friday week resumed work this morning, and at the luncheon interval the manager of the Fletcher Construction Company said all branches of the work were proceeding normally. As a result of conferences the men agreed to resume on the understanding that, as soon as the Arbitration Court has completed the standard wage hearing, the Conciliation Council will be called to consider the carpenters claims.
