COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

On Monday evening an enjoyable coming-of-age party was celebrated at the residence of Mr and Mrs L. Jones in honour, of their eldest daughter, Elma, who was gowned in an exquisite shell pink silk taffeta frock over which was worn a silver coatee. The evening was spent with games, competitions and music. Several items were presented by Mr N. Lane on his accordeon and Mr B. Wilson on his bagpipes, which were appreciated. Supper was served by the host and hostess, the chief feature being a very prettily decorated birthday cake adorned with 21 kewpies and artificial water-lilies a nil buttercups, set off with maidenhair fern.

At a. suitable juncture following supper the guest of honour was presented with a golden key (made by a friend), which was subsequently autographed by all present. The evening closed at a late hour with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Among the guests were Mr and Mrs P. Hulbert. Misses D. Jones, D. Ratcliffe, J. Johnston, J. Francis, R. Young, R. Lavin. J.
