MANAWATU CLUB. JULY BOGEY COMPETITION. The July bogey competition of the Manawatu Golf Club was contested on the Hokowhitu links on Saturday. G. A. Robertson, 1 up, led in the A Grade followed by F. J. Redden 1 down, R. Dnvys 2 down, Al. A. Ongley 3 down and AV. AV. Smith 4 down. K. Olliver, 1 up, led in the B Grade, followed by G. Robinson, G. P. Alaulo, N. S. Triggs each 3 down, and E. J. QUALIFYING ROUND RESULTS. In tho Palmerston North Gclf Club championship (Rosco Cup) history repeats itself in that B. Tremaine tops the honours in tho qualifying rounds this year, as he did last year. His gross scores for the rounds v/cfe 36 and 80, making a very meritorious total of 166. The present holder of the championship is C. J. Walsh. 'Thompson Cup.—H. Kerr and B. Tremaine share positions in this event, both players playing 10 handicap, some of the old stalwarts failing to make the grade. Barraud and Abraham Cup.—J. P. Webster, plying good golf, ha 6 the honour of loading the field in this section, but there arc many keen contestants playing in this competition. Ekstcdt Aledallion. —J. P. Webster rc- ! turned the best nett score. This is a handicap event and as all the colts are keen in this section some good matches arc anticipated. Shannon Cup.—AV. S. Wiiton, who has been ploying well, deserves bis position as top of t'lio grade. He has boon very keen, and his practice is apparently hearing fruit. Ciochetto Clip.—W. S.
