LONDON, July 15

The Daily Herald’s Gibraltar correspondent, detailing how the Rock of Gibraltar is almost completely ringed with heavy iruns and underground fortifications built under tlie supervision of the Germans, says that the first shipment of a dozen ] 2-inch guns from-Germany was unloaded at Algeciras from tlie Deutschland on February 22. A consignment of 16-inch guns whs landed on March 20 from tlie Admiral von oclieei, which also brought technicians, who are still garrisoned at Algeciras. In the same month the German tanker Max Albrecht discharged machine-guns and anti-aircraft guns. Heavy batteries have been installed along 15 miles ot the coast between Algeciras and Tarifa, and also at San Roque, only two miles behind Gibraltar.
