After having served as a residence for New Zealand Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Crown for 53 years, the old Ministerial residence at No. 260 Tinakori Road lias been converted into a school dental clinic, and will bo used as an annex to the main W elI lington dental clinic, j Workmen have been engaged refitI ting the residence during recent I weeks, and some 40 chairs have been i installed, both oil the ground floor and I upstairs. The new clinic will he used l this week and the extra accommoda- ! tion will greatly _ assist in relieving j congestion at Wellington, j Conversion of tho Ministerial rcsiIdence has been brought about by the j expansion of the school dental serI vice. The intention of the Govcrni merit is to provide a full school dental | service within five years of its asi sumption of office, and it is estimated 'it has reached the halfway mark in j its objective. Tho Lambton Quay ■building will still remain the training I headquarters for nurses and practical work will he carried out there and at 200 Tinakori Road also.
