OTAGO CLUB.
MONTHLY SOCIAL. The monthly social and dance of the Otago Club was held last night, oldtime dances being interspersed with items. The hostesses were Mesdames A. G. Bennieon, who wore a picture frock of floral silk crepe, and Mrs F. Wilkinson, in black marocain. Mr R. McCulloch fulfilled the duties of M.C. Items which found favour were elocutionary selections by Miss F. Whittaker, and vocal soles by Mr McAffer, Mrs j. Garde Grimshaw being the accompaniste. By special request, Claude Hend-eiuon contributed tap dances. Music for extra dances was contributed by Mr C. Birk on his piano-accor-deon. Prizewinners were Mr T. Ingks and Miss Beils (Gay Gordons) and Mr TV. Fyfe and Miss A. Clarke (Monte Carlo). In the absence of the president (Mr A. J. Graham), Mr J. S. TVinton (vicepresident) welcomed the members and visitors, particularly mentioning Mr Rivers ia.nd his wife, who recently arrived from Dunedin, also Miss TV. Bowden (Ashburton) and Mr and Mrs C. V. Clarke (Argentina), who have lately taken up their residence in Palmerston North. Mr TVinton thanked the performers and Mrs Bennisoh who had arranged the programme. The ladies’ committee supervised the supper with the assistance of the general committee a.nd the secretary, Mr R. TVright,
