LADIES’ GUILD.
CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. At the monthly meeting of the Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild, on Tuesday, the speaker was Miss Alary Rees, the missionary from Central Africa. Mrs TV. Mu fitly presided. Visitors were present from the sister churelies, and also Airs Grimlley and Afiss Grindley, of Auckland. The speaker gavp a. most stimulating address of her work in Central Africa, and on tbo motion of Airs Nicholls, she was accorded a vote of thanks. There was on view a parcel of quilts and warm clothing which had been made by guild members for distribution among those in need through Die Palmerston North Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary. Rev. Raymond Simpson closed the meeting with prayer, and afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Airs Alundy, Airs Helyer and Miss K illicit.
